Parents are asked to ensure that students arrive at school on time for security reasons and so that instruction time is not lost. Students are expected to be on campus for the first bell at 7:40 a.m., but should not arrive before 7:20 a.m., as teacher supervision is not provided before that time. Students arriving after the bell are expected to report to the school office to sign in, and will be asked to provide their full name, arrival time, and the reason for their tardiness. The student will then be issued a late pass. Students are expected to be on time to all classes.
When a student is absent from school, parents are required to notify the school office by phone or by email <office@cmis.ac.th> before 8:45 in the morning. When a student has been absent from class (whether sick or for some excused event), it is the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian to contact the student's teacher(s) about the missed work. If parents anticipate the need for a student to be late or absent, they are asked to notify the school office in advance. It is important that parents notify CMIS before leaving for extended trips (3 or more school days) away from Chiang Mai. Parents must inform the office as to who is supervising their children should an accident or illness occur.
We have a responsibility to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students while on campus. No student is permitted to leave the campus during the school day, except when accompanied by a parent, or with written or verbal parental approval, as confirmed by the school office or the administration. A student who leaves campus without permission will be subject to disciplinary consequences.
In order to be eligible for credit for a subject, a high school student is required to attend a minimum of 80% of classes for the subject each semester. Unless given administrative approval, primary and middle school students need to attend at least 80% of the year in order to maintain enrollment.
