Our History

Founded in 1954 by missionaries of the Church of Christ in Thailand, CMIS began with just eight students in Chiang Mai. What started as the "Chiang Mai Children's Center" grew alongside the city's international community, and in 1985 was formally established as Chiang Mai International School, offering Kindergarten through Grade 12 by 1995. Today, CMIS is a dynamic school of over 500 students that balances a rich Christian heritage with a warm welcome for children of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds, all within a friendly, close-knit campus environment.
