If you are not a Thai citizen, you will need to apply for a non-immigrant visa.  This can be done through the Thai embassy in an overseas country or by changing your visa at the immigration offices if your child is already in another school in Thailand.

The following are two important rules for the parent holding a guardian visa:

Transferring visas within Thailand
- A guardian visa holder must have 500,000 baht in a Thai bank account for 3 months before the visa transfer request,

Requesting a new visa from outside of Thailand
- Upon arrival to Thailand, the guardian visa holder will receive a visa for 3 months.  During this time, the guardian visa holder will have to open up a Thai bank account and deposit 500,000 baht.  This money must remain in the account for 1 month before the visa can be extended to one year.

Please contact <visa@cmis.ac.th> for additional information.
