Reporting Academic Progress

Primary School Academic Reporting Policy (Preschool - 5)

CMIS operates on a two semester system. There are 2 reporting periods at the primary school where report cards are sent home to families. Teacher/parent communication is ongoing and vital to educational success.  It is not necessary for parents to wait for a grading period to contact a teacher.

The CMIS report cards have two major sections for reporting this information: ACHIEVEMENT and EFFORT

ACHIEVEMENT EFFORT
4 - Working Above Expectations G - Very Good
3 - Meeting Expectations S - Satisfactory
2 - Working Towards Expectations U - Unsatisfactory
1 - Working Below Expectations

Secondary School Academic Reporting Policy

The Secondary school operates on a two semester system. There are two reporting periods on a student’s official school transcript - the end of the First Semester (December) and the end of the Second Semester (June).

Teachers will contact parents if they feel that a student is struggling. Parents are encouraged to contact the teachers, counselors, or the administration any time they have concerns about their child. Teachers update grades on Powerschool regularly and can be accessed by students and parents at any point during the semester.
