Educational excellence in a caring Christian community that respects and celebrates diversity

Counseling Services

School counselors provide an ongoing comprehensive guidance program to help students develop self-understanding, self-acceptance, effective interpersonal skills, academic achievement and college and career awareness. Each school division has a dedicated counselor to support students' social-emotional health. Counselors provide assistance to students, parents, teachers, administrators, student support personnel and others to determine the appropriate educational assistance and support needed.  Counselors work directly with students, individually, and/or in group settings, with a focus on academic planning and developing positive personal skills and virtues.  Referrals to outside agencies are provided when appropriate. College and career counseling is provided by the High School counselor in conjunction with the curriculum in the Senior Seminar course. The CMIS College Handbook is available to help students with their graduation planning.
