CMIS Stories

CMIS features photos and videos in our CMIS Gallery and on our CMIS Social Media Platforms.  Below are some recent highlights.

As you go on holiday, please take care and stay safe. Have a restful and relaxing break. See you back at school on Monday, October 19!
On Sunday, September 20th, CMIS administrators and CMIS Spiritual Life Committee members joined the 10:30am church service at the First Church of Chiang Mai. As a member of the Church of Christ in Thailand (CCT), CMIS is honored to be invited to worship together with the First Church each year. Three of our staff members were also able to encourage the congregation by singing a beautiful rendition of “What Faith Can Do”.

Grade 5 is working on creating models to explain phenomena that they can't see. They worked with black boxes and had to gather data to create models of what it was like inside. Here they took their drawn models and made physical models to test against their black box. Students then revised their models based on the extra data they collected.

Learning different life skills is one portion of the Senior Seminar class. Recently, seniors had the opportunity to learn more about car maintenance. The activities included changing a tire, jump starting a dead battery, and learning about different parts of a car engine. Hopefully, our seniors are now better equipped when they drive their vehicles around town!

In our Wit and Wisdom curriculum, we are learning about the five senses. We started an activity by reading a story called The Listening Walk written by Paul Showers and illustrated by Aliki. After listening to the story, students took their response journals and went outside to draw and write about what they could hear around them. We moved to different areas on campus to notice different sounds. After, we shared in pairs what we had noticed.
