CMIS Stories
CMIS features photos and videos in our CMIS Gallery and on our CMIS Social Media Platforms. Below are some recent highlights.
The PreCalculus students worked on graphing transformed functions. These types of questions take up a lot of board space, so we decided to move our class outside! Practice graphing by hand will help students strengthen their connections between the different representations of functions.

In the spirit of bringing FUN back to campus, STUCO is taking advantage of the easing of Covid restrictions and has begun organizing games every Friday lunchtime. Last week, two representatives of every MS & HS class played a game of musical chairs. A student from grade 9 was the winner!
NHS had some fun working together to sell Grass Jelly, as a cool way to end off a hot afternoon!
- Ms. Kim
With spectators allowed on campus again, CMIS hosted GIS U12 & U14 girls and boys basketball teams for the start of many CMAC friendly games. With both schools sporting large numbers in each team, we are excited for additional games so all of our student-athletes, coaches and spectators get more game time this season!
The Counselling team held another Higher Education Talk on the topic of "College Essay", a very important part of the college application. The team invited a professional to guide students and advise them on how to write an essay from the beginning to the end.
Last week, students attended the first meeting of the CMIS MUN organization. CMIS will be participating in the MUN conference at PTIS in November.
- Mr. Nathan
On Wednesday, August 31st, one of the many CMIS student-led community service clubs, “Now Or Never” hosted a fundraiser selling snow cones with 50% of their total profits being donated to “Baan Yin Dee Orphanage”. They focus their goals on helping the betterment of the environment of Chiang Mai while also focusing on giving back to the community of Chiang Mai.
On Friday, STUCO organized a limbo competition at lunch. Lots of students were excited to participate. Some students even created their own limbo techniques! The lowest height achieved was 2ft 3in!
The first month at school was so exciting for Pre KB. The students learned how to share, how to take care of the toys, how to use a microscope, and most of all how to have fun whilst learning. Well done Pre KB!
- Ms. Denise
It is a pleasure to see our Jv and Varsity football teams back out on the field again! There are plenty of signs that we are on track to build our program as this season progresses. With several members missing on all teams our Varsity boys lost 3-1, JV girls won 1-0 and JV boys won 2-1.
