The English proficiency test is essential for college admissions globally, particularly for non-native English-speaking individuals. CMIS academic counseling team has reached out to the authorized organization for the IELTS test, to arrange for the test to be conducted for high school students at CMIS on 18th November. This service is a valuable initiative that the school aims to provide for our students. Having students take tests at school is beneficial, as it allows them to become familiar with the venues, parking facilities, and ensures a safe and relaxed environment.

Preschoolers at CMIS had a blast during their inaugural Sports Day on November 17th, all thanks to the efforts of Coach Harrison! From navigating obstacle courses to sack races and a hilarious water play, students honed their gross-motor skills and hand-eye coordination in exciting new ways. What a fantastic way to wrap up the week, providing these young learners with a remarkable experience. Big thanks to Coach Harrison for organizing such a memorable event!

The High School embarked on Doi Tung for a week of outdoor education and experiential learning for our Week Without Walls trip. The CMIS teachers worked closely with the Environmental Education Center (EEC) to plan hands-on learning activities in a variety of subject areas for all G9-12 students. It was amazing to get the opportunity to be in nature for hiking, camping, and other challenges.

The National Honor Society (NHS) hosted the Elementary Carnival on Friday, 17 November, and the weather was perfect for a day of fun and excitement for ES students!! NHS members set up and ran the annual Carnival games with prizes ranging in value, and sweetness, depending on the game's outcome. The NHS raises money to support ongoing campus projects, as well as some organizations in the Chiang Mai community. We appreciate the support of the teachers, students and parents who came out to make the ES Carnival another huge success!!!

AP Art and Design students have been exploring concepts of identity. Here are some of the amazing mixed media works they have created so far. It is wonderful to see each student learn to manipulate new materials and techniques to best convey an intended meaning within their work. Can't wait to see what they come up with next.

CMIS' student representative and administrators were honored to welcome the US Regional Education Officers (REO) and US consulate staff on their annual visit to schools in the region. We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase our recent accomplishments and engage in productive discussions about future endeavors.

The ELEPHANTS! Club made their first trip of the year to the Elephant Nature Park (ENP) north of Chiang Mai. This very large sanctuary is home to over 115 elephants all living their lives out without being working or tourist animals any longer. The club helped prepare lunch for the jumbos and then after their own lunch, spent the afternoon planting trees! We also donated 4 shovels to the ENP for future work around the sanctuary to support the elephants and all of their other projects. The next scheduled trip is December 16 (Saturday after the last day of Semester 2). Be looking for the announcements for this trip if you want up to 6 hours of Service Learning hours or to just join a great cause and be close to elephants all day. Photo Credit: Dr. Cherie Kinnersley

Our esteemed alumnus, Mr. Lawrence Johnson, a member of the Class of 1964, along with his family, recently graced CMIS with their presence, reminiscing about their cherished memories of life at our school. Mr. Johnson, who once resided on the second floor of the Admin building during CMIS's days as a boarding school, generously gifted us with his old documents and records, adding valuable historical artifacts to our archives.
