The students of grade 8 have investigated Face Painting traditions from all over the world in art class. They then chose one tradition and made faces in clay which they covered in plaster to create a mask. They used many different skills and a lot of creativity to decorate the mask in a way similar to the person that they chose as their inspiration. An amazing project with some excellent results.

5B has been doing team building activities during MLP. A few weeks ago, students were put into groups to discuss their favorite foods. After everyone shared, the group chose one food to write a recipe for. The teams put their created recipes into a slide show and each week we are making the recipes together. Students are learning how important it is to follow directions carefully and how to write directions precisely. It has been fun seeing how recipes turn out as we all cook in our kitchens together on Google Meets! These are some cookies that we made last week.

Mr. Melby's 6th Grade Science Class had the opportunity to discuss food we eat and its impact on the environment with Dr. Mingla Charoenmuang of Cornell University. She is a Chiang Mai local who now works in the US teaching children about the relationship between ourselves, food systems, and the environment. We are so grateful to have leading experts like these take the time to invest in the generation of tomorrow.
