On Friday February 3rd the CMIS AP Biology class complemented their classroom learning by participating in a hands-on workshop on molecular biology techniques at the Faculty of Science, Mae Jo University. Molecular biology is a branch of biology which has boomed in the last few decades, leading to DNA manipulation techniques which have been important in research and medicine. In the workshop, students were able to gain experience in cutting up DNA precisely using restriction enzymes, analyzing DNA by gel electrophoresis, and transforming bacterial cells with plasmid DNA. We were expertly led through these processes by Dr. Thippapha Pisithkul and her team. We are grateful to them, to the school administration for supporting the project, and to Ms. Jariya and Ms. Pat for making all the necessary arrangements behind the scenes.

- Mr. JeremyCongratulations to the 7th grade student who won the intermediate group championship of the 3rd ICON Chiang Mai Rapid Chess 2023 Competition. The competition was held over two days, with a total of nine games, and he won eight games. Well done!!NHS and Interact are hosting a Food Drive from February 8th to 17th. Thank you for joining us in helping families in our community!Last week, the PTG Coffee Meeting was a wonderful success. Dr. Cherie presented on the international certification process CMIS is completing this semester and gathered feedback on the Action Plan. Dr. Yuthachai shared about the proposed location move and the plans for One School, Two Campuses. We are grateful so many members of our community were available to join this meeting and we look forward to seeing you at the next PTG Coffee Morning!"Nature Walk"
