Course Description

French 2 is designed to further develop French language skills while providing a more in depth insight into French cultural specificity and regional diversity of France. Your four language skills will be developed in an integrated and contextualized way throughout the year, however a strong emphasis on speaking and listening skills is the main objective of this year of study. You will develop previously acquired structures and vocabulary while enriching your oral and written production and comprehension with idiomatic language and discourse markers specific to French language. While strengthening your ability to communicate about the present as well as near future/past events, you will be able to express yourself about future, possible and past events in greater detail using compound and complex sentences. By the end of the course, you will be able to interact in most daily situations, make and respond to daily inquiries appropriately, produce paragraph long oral and written presentations spontaneously.
