Last week, the Thai Department set up Loy Krathong activities in preparation for the Loy Krathong Festival. This year, students in Elementary School learned how to make krathongs in various styles using different materials. Middle School students learned how to make Lanna lanterns. High School students enjoyed making krathongs independently. Our krathongs were made from natural materials and we tried to make sure that our krathongs were eco-friendly.  We hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating this beautiful festival.

Beginning this academic year, the students have had to practice distancing. In the Library/Learning Center, they have had marked places to sit on in the reading area. With the help of Miss Manon, the middle school art teacher, we have improved the design to be clear, clean, and fun! The elementary students are now excited to find their FROG to sit on when it is time for Miss Ruth to read to them.

Budgeting, grocery shopping, and knowing how to prepare a healthy meal are important life skills for the seniors to learn as they are becoming more independent. Over the last few days in Senior Seminar, we talked about how to shop for food, how to make healthy food choices, and how to cook a meal/dish. During class time, the students had the opportunity to come up with their own dish, make an ingredients list, and cook food. The students created some tasty dishes!
