In order to properly plan for next year's schedules, we are asking that you please confirm whether your child will be continuing at CMIS next year or if they will not be returning for the 2021-2022 academic year.

To confirm your plans for continuing enrollment please use the form in your received email. Confirmations must be made before Friday, March 5, 2021. To confirm, you will need to submit a form for each student in your family (you will receive this email for each of your students). To make this process easier, we have prefilled the form, simply indicate your continuing status and submit.

Khun Dtan will be available from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays to help with Powerschool and continuing enrollment issues. If you have problems with the process, please come and see her at the IT office in the red sala area.

As university acceptances start to roll in, we would like to take a moment to celebrate these achievements of the senior students who have put so much hard work into their applications. We would also like to say good luck to those who are still in the process of applying and a big thank you to the senior parents for their support throughout this process.

The CMIS Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) is collaborating with ZOE International to shine a light on modern-day slavery and child trafficking through the End It Movement. The End It movement or Shine a Light on Slavery Day attempts to awaken the world to the fact that not only does slavery still exist, but it is still very much prevalent today. On Thursday, February 25th, NHS, ZOE International, and people from all over the world will draw a red X on their hands in hopes of sparking a conversation with someone about modern-day slavery. Additionally, a booth will be set up during lunchtime where NHS members will inform students in the CMIS community about the movement. Red paint will also be provided for students who wish to participate. Please help us raise awareness by drawing a red X and taking photos to post on your social media with the #endit and tag ZOE International.

On Saturday afternoon, the kids from AP English Language and Composition hit the streets of Chiang Mai to hand out the food that our entire CMIS community worked together to collect. The kids are doing this as a part of their year long AP WE service project to target a local issue, to investigate and learn about, create an action plan, and then put it into action. They chose to feed community members in need of help during this pandemic, and they chose to reach out to all of you to aid in the effort. You all came through. Over fifty families were fed through the action.
Big thanks go out to all of you who gave to help our community, especially Mr. Jeremy for his connections, expertise, and personal time, Mr. Aaron for his support and encouragement, Ms. Kelley and Ms. Molly for their proactive support, the Hrangchal family for their time and support, class 4A's family that surprised us with so many awesome tomatoes, and all of you teachers for encouraging your students to think of others and for taking time out of your busy day to support our kids. Sincerely, thank you. We hope to do it again soon.

Grade 4A have been learning about light and reflection as part of the Energy module for science. Students learned that all energy is transferred in waves and that light travels in straight lines and can be reflected off shiny objects. They did a series of challenges with torches and mirrors inside and outside of the classroom.

The PLUB club posse was out in full effect on Sunday morning. We had a generous guest appearance by local trash lord Shayne Rochfort, the true inspiration for our clean ups. We also had a reappearance by the local beloved puppy. Thanks to all who came out to make Chiang Mai just a little more beautiful.

Another year of National History Day is, well...history! After months of hard work, our middle school students rose to the occasion and produced excellent projects that showcased their learning. Judging was held remotely this year, and involved numerous CMIS teachers and community members helping to evaluate the students' work. Winners have been selected and will now move on to the regional competition, being held virtually from Singapore. Well done and good luck Eagles!

With safety as our top priority here at CMIS, we regularly practice responding to the Fire Alarm so that staff and students alike are well prepared should we ever need to evacuate. Today we were also joined by the Fire Department and American Consulate, who we work with to ensure that our Evacuation Policy is always up to date.
