3A worked diligently on their final projects for the first Wit & Wisdom G3 Module called "The Sea." Students wrote an informational paragraph on a sea animal of their choice and also created an original piece of artwork to accompany their essay. Great job for completing all the work during MLP 3A!!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Toe Tet Ta village project! We were able to raise 20,000 baht to assist in purchasing hygiene products, such as soap, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes, etc. This will help the village fight against the new variant of covid during these tough times. Finally, a big shoutout to all the club members who contributed to this project!

The Library is constantly replenishing its shelves with exciting new titles for students to read. We've gotten some fun mixed fairy tales, sweet "feel good" stories about pets, and inspiring life lessons from celebrities in picture books.
.
Check them out for yourself today!
.
The illustrations are excellent and allow for detailed close-up viewing that can only be done while holding the book in your hands.

With the Christmas holiday approaching students created Holiday Parodies of iconic images and artwork. Students focused on aesthetic or concept imitation then added a twist with a holiday message. These mixed media pieces turned out awesome. Have a great break CMIS!

Interact Club has finished its annual winter clothing drive! We are immensely grateful to everyone who has donated clothes to the villagers of the hill tribes of Chiangmai. Thanks to your donations, the villagers now have warm clothes to endure the harsh conditions of winter up in the mountains. Mr. Dylan, the president of the Chiang Mai Rotary Club, is collecting all the donations from around Chiangmai (Makro, Rimping, Unity, CMIS..etc) and delivering them to the residents of the hill tribes around Chiang Mai (near the border of Myanmar). In these places, the temperature can often reach 0 degrees at nighttime. Your donations save lives!
As a part of the Chiangmai winter clothing drive hosted by the CMIRC(Chiang Mai International Rotary Club), this year's winter clothing drive has been the most successful yet! As a whole, the Chiangmai Community has helped the following villages and many more!
1) the remote Lua village of Phou Khe in Nan Province near the Laos border;
2) a 300-member Palong hill tribe on Doi Ang Khang mountain in Nor Lea, Fang district in Chiang Mai Province;
3) a 500-member Lahu hill tribe in Ban Huai Ya Sai, in Mae Suai District of Chiang Rai Province, on the dangerous Myanmar border;
4) Mae La Refugee Camp with over 50,000 ethnic Karen residents, in Tha Song Yang District of Tak Province along the Burmese border;
5) the Ban Huai Muang Nursery School in Mae Na Wang, Mae Ai, Chiang Mai Province.
6) a Karen village of 300 residents in Mae Wang District on Doi Inthanon. Sorry, the name is not available since we didn't follow the map. They have no electricity, TV signal, or internet connection, and
7) a 100-member Kayan Long Neck tribe and the nearby Baan Mai Naisoi Temporary Shelter Area (a refugee camp with 8,000 ethnic Shan residents).
.
Thank you all!

In Grade 2, students have been learning about symbols in Social Studies. The students learned how symbols represent values and were asked to create a flag that showed what CMIS values. Through research and interviewing Mr. Tyler the students were able to create beautiful flags to show what they have learned.

A CMIS Student Athlete from Grade 8 won 1st place while participating in a basketball competition (U14) organized by the Sports Authority of Thailand (BSAT) U14 and JR.NBA 5V5 THAILAND 2021 (U13) on December 11,2021. Congratulations on this achievement!

The annual Christmas Assembly which usually takes place at school on the morning of the last Friday of the semester went virtual this year. Even though the format is different the message of hope, peace, joy, and love remains the same. Merry Christmas!

In past years, the following nine days of advent posts are usually read aloud in elementary classrooms at CMIS. Since we are not in person this year, we decided to shorten the advent and digitize it so that it could still be enjoyed by the community! May you experience hope, peace, love, and joy from God as you reflect on part of the Christmas story this holiday season.
