Preparing for Global Leadership

Cultivating Academic Excellence, Personal Agency, and University Readiness.

High School

(Grade 9 to Grade 12)

The CMIS High School represents the culmination of our students' educational journeys. Our program is designed to foster maximum personal agency, academic independence, and leadership. Operating through the Four Pillars of Learning, we push students to become true Courageous Learners who take intellectual risks, think critically, and approach their studies with absolute academic integrity as they prepare for higher education and beyond.

Rigorous Academic Pathways & AP Excellence

Our high school curriculum offers a comprehensive, standards-based American program that ensures a smooth transition to top-tier universities worldwide:

Holistic Support, Counseling & Wellness

Navigating the university selection and preparation process requires a solid emotional and psychological foundation. We support our students through:
  • Comprehensive Counseling: Guided by the CASEL Framework and ISCA Standards, our counseling team provides targeted social-emotional support and robust university and career guidance.
  • Health & Physical Literacy: Following Washington State Standards, our physical education and health courses equip students with the tools to manage stress, balance their workloads, and maintain lifelong personal wellness.
  • Child Protection & Ethics: We reinforce student rights, personal boundaries, and ethical behavior, ensuring our campus remains a safe, respectful environment for all.

Living the 9 Attributes

In High School, the nine core attributes mature from classroom character traits into active leadership principles. Students routinely demonstrate these attributes as Responsible Global Citizens through student council, clubs, and peer mentorship:

Collaborative • Flexible • Creative • Innovative • Resilient • Respectful • Kind • Proactive • Responsible

Assessment, Transparency & Integrity

Assessment in High School strictly prioritizes learning over behavior, preparing students for the rigorous accountability of university grading systems:
  • Formative & Summative Mastery: Students utilize criteria-based rubrics within Google Classroom to analyze feedback, track their own learning trajectories, and distinguish "quality" work from "approaching" work before final summative deadlines.
  • Standardized Benchmarks: In addition to classroom assessments, student progress is calibrated against global benchmarks including the PSAT/NMSQT®, SAT®, and AP® Examinations*.
  • PowerSchool & Privacy: All assessment results are securely and accurately managed in PowerSchool in full compliance with PDPA considerations, providing clear transparency for internal review, accreditation, and university transcripts.
  • Academic Integrity: High standards of academic honesty are strictly enforced. Plagiarism and cheating are not tolerated, ensuring that every grade reflects true student understanding and progress toward the standards.
