6th grade field trip
Last week, the 6th grade art class finally received all the ceramics that they created on their field trip a few weeks ago. They all came out wonderful!

Spring Band Performance 2022
Students in this year's band classes have worked not only on the skills of playing their instruments, but in musicality, musical understanding, and cooperation. Symphonic Winds students took the time to rewrite their own parts and create a unique arrangement of "Hungarian Dance No. 5" that is original to this group. Students in Concert Band challenged themselves to paint the picture of a runaway train in "Great Locomotive Chase" and all 8-12 students together portrayed the ideas of loss, longing, and hope as sounds in "Mountain Thyme." Grade 7 students were able to show off their growth in their very first year of playing with a triumphant piece called "Acropolis," named after the building in Greece. All the CMIS student musicians worked hard, grew in their playing and understanding, and showed drive and grit despite the challenges they faced this year. Their accomplishments are here for you to enjoy!

The E-Sports Club is hard at work practicing their teamwork, strategy, and coordination skills. Team sports (even digital ones!) have a positive impact on social skills, problem solving, and emotional intelligence. Did you know that several universities in the United States offer thousands of dollars in scholarships to students who participate in their E-Sport Teams?
