In order to properly plan for next year's schedules, we are asking that you please confirm whether your child will be continuing at CMIS next year or if they will not be returning for the 2021-2022 academic year.
To confirm your plans for continuing enrollment please use the form in your received email. Confirmations must be made before Friday, March 5, 2021. To confirm, you will need to submit a form for each student in your family (you will receive this email for each of your students). To make this process easier, we have prefilled the form, simply indicate your continuing status and submit.
Khun Dtan will be available from 2:00pm until 3:00pm on Mondays and Thursdays to help with Powerschool and continuing enrollment issues. If you have problems with the process, please come and see her at the IT office in the red sala area.

Earlier last week, Grade 6 and Grade 7 had the opportunity to go on a service learning field trip to a nearby frisbee disc golf course. The purpose of these activities was to provide awareness of environmental concerns and learn a new skill/sport for student physical and emotional well being. Students picked up lots of trash in the area which helped beautify the space and learned how to play frisbee disc golf!

On Monday 22nd February the AP Biology class participated in a workshop in laboratory techniques in molecular biology organized by the microbiology division of Chiang Mai University's faculty of science. The full day workshop, expertly led by Dr. Thararat Chitov and her team, gave students the chance to get hands-on experience of DNA manipulation techniques including restriction enzyme analysis of DNA, polymerase chain reactions and gel electrophoresis.

Last week, Grade 8 students went on their annual 3 day/2 night Outdoor Education field trip with an organization called CMRCA (Chiang Mai Rock Climbing Adventures). Students enjoyed several activities which encouraged teamwork, team building and collaboration all while getting the chance to appreciate the great outdoors. Activities included an orienteering challenge where students used a compass, GPS, map and walkie talkies to find checkpoints around a reservoir; trekking up to the Doi Ngom Summit (a hike of almost 6 hours!), and building the "Bridge to Success" which is a rope system similar to the one used in the Thai Cave Rescue in 2018. They also learned how to set up a tent and developed new cooking skills. Overall, it was a memorable experience that will be with them for years to come.

Mr. Melby’s 6th Grade Science Class observed the effect of radiation on different materials in order to understand how the earth is unevenly heated. With this investigation, students learn more about how weather and climate are influenced by location and geography.

Thank you to all who supported our school community by coming to our March PTG meeting. It was a great time to connect and share coffee and cake. During the meeting, we voted to create a runner-up prize for the Senior Scholarship Award.
There will be no meeting in April due to school break but lookout for the dates for the next PTG meeting in May.

Next week, the AP English Language and Composition class will be organizing a food drive to help provide people who have been affected by COVID-19 with a meal, cooking ingredients, and basic essentials. Each grade has been assigned a particular item to donate, and members of the AP English class will be collecting donations from Monday till Thursday.
On Saturday, March 13th, the students will take the items and hand them out in care packages to 50 families within the community. If you have anything else you would like to donate, don't hesitate to contact a member of the AP English Class. The more we contribute, the more we can serve the community around us. Thank you!
