This course looks at the foundations of politics and government: Different philosophies on why governments exist, how different governments are structured, how laws are made, etc. Students will leave this course with an understanding of the purpose and functions of government, the role of institutions in societies, the relationship between media and power, and the various theories used to explain how countries interact with one another. Activities include presentations, simulations, group discussions, etc. Students who wish to take the AP comparative government course and subsequent exam in the Spring Semester must take this course in the fall semester
