This AP Psychology class is a two-semester course designed to introduce high school students to the systematic and scientific study of behavior and mental processes of human beings. Students will be exposed to the relevant psychological facts, research findings, terminologies, psychological experiments, major figures, perspectives, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. Students will also learn methods and observe ethics psychologists use in science and practice. This course seeks to help students learn and appreciate the intricate beauty of the significant phenomena of their lives. Furthermore, it enhances students' abilities to start the balance in their use of intuition and critical thinking, of objective judgment and compassion, of perception and factual understanding. The rigors of the course require comprehensive readings and note-taking. Lecture-discussion and the students' oral presentations and written reaction papers on related articles are the teaching and learning approaches employed in this college introductory level course.
