CMIS is proud to welcome live audiences back to the theatre with 'Around The World in 8 Plays', a bright, comedic romp through the folk traditions of people across the globe. You've all heard the story of 'Cinderella'. The tale of 'The Little Mermaid'. But what about the ones Walt Disney missed? What about 'The Story of the Yara' from Brazil, or 'The Lost Beads' from South Africa? Central to the mission of an international school is to learn about, teach about, and celebrate the artistic and cultural offerings of different countries and peoples. Please join us in these efforts and support our young actors as they take you...Around The World in 8 Plays!

Congratulations to the CMIS Grade 11 student who received a Silver medal in The International Medicine and Disease Olympiad (IMDO). This is the World Championship Medical and Disease knowledge/problem solving competition for High School students and is held annually online in July/Aug.

For a recent lunch activity, those on campus enjoyed beautiful music from the HS Band!

CMIS Junior swim team got 3rd place overall for the CMAC junior meet on October 4th. Despite the flood, 38 swimmers came to NIS to compete to finish off the season. The results showed how hard everyone trained in the last 10 weeks and the coaches are so proud!
Thank you to all the swimmers and parents for a great season & we can't wait to do this again next year!

Grade 5 went on an art field trip last week to Elephant Parade Land where they learnt about art, conservation and business. They had a tour of the museum, production rooms and also painted their own elephants to take home.

Skate Club is speeding along this year! We have over 40 students who signed up for the club and every week, we have a group that visits a local skatepark while the other group skates around on campus. Wherever students are, in terms of skill level & age, it is a fun time to play together and develop their ability to skateboard, rollerblade, or even scooter around!

This month’s SLO attribute of focus is RESPECTFUL. What does this mean at CMIS? It means that we are thoughtful and considerate. We engage in conversations, acknowledge other points of view, and treat others how we want to be treated.

Students from grades 3-12 have been invited to participate in solving a weekly challenge problem from the University of Waterloo. These math problems look at five major themes in mathematics: Number Sense, Geometry & Measurement, Algebra, Data Management, and Computational Thinking. Even though the questions have been tough, students have enjoyed the productive struggle (which is half the fun in tackling math problems)! A "fridge" has been set up to display student work. We are proud of our students for taking risks, making mistakes, and growing in the process.
